It is always shocking and obviously very upsetting when this happens. Without an autopsy (and sometimes even with one), the cause of death will be speculation on my part but often in a dog this age, it will be related. Pitbull may also suffer from hypothyroidism, a condition easily treated with drugs, while St. Bernards may develop bloat, a condition peculiar to broad-chested animals which involves a sudden onset of digestive symptoms and can lead to death if not treated post haste. When you first suspect your Yorkshire terrier is pregnant, there is a lot to do to prepare for the birth of her puppies. Take her to the vet for a complete medical checkup. She needs extra care to remain healthy throughout her pregnancy.

She was at least outwardly, a perfectly healthy and energetic dog for her age, and passed her yearly exam only two months earlier..
